New Comm Ave publishes research, analysis, and creative nonfiction written by college students. We aim to provide a global forum for these emerging writers to communicate, experiment, and receive exposure.
Our mission is to publish the best writing from this author pool. We encourage writing that takes risks, that is provocative, that shows in its style and language the author's passion for the subject.
We publish a variety of voices and styles. In each issue we select pieces from the genres submitted (usually features, personal narratives, human interest pieces, satires, researched essays, reflections, meditations, and textual & cultural analyses).
We have no word limit, but most published pieces range from 1,000 to 5,000 words.
Disclaimer
Because New Comm Ave aims to foster diversity and experimentation, we publish a breadth of form and content. Accordingly, the opinions, views, and statements printed in New Comm Ave are those of the individual authors (of the essays) and do not necessarily reflect the opinions or recommendations of the editors
